The Mandarin comes from the tropics of Asia (China and Indochina).
It is believed that its name comes from the color of the costumes used by the mandarins, rulers of ancient China. In some Latin American countries called China orange.
Its cultivation was introduced in Europe in the nineteenth century.
The Valencian Region produces 90% of the Mandarin of Spain. Because of its special climate, the best are grown where we are, in the flat regions of Castellón.
